Jordi
Badiella, EL TE A MERZUGA (Tea in Merzuga)
El
Te a Merzuga is a collection of poems by the Catalan poet, Jordi
Badiella. El Te a Merzuga comprises sixteen poems written
during a trip to the southern Morocco, and describes the poet’s
feelings on discovering a minority culture which has much in common
with Catalan culture, given they have both been banned and persecuted
in the past.
The
poet discovered another culture during his trip and has composed
these poems which are not only about places and landscapes, but
also about people that he met.
El
Te a Merzuga consists of original poems in Catalan, together
with their translation into French (by Josep Maria Jarque) and Amazigh
(by Omar Derouich). The amazigh version is written in Latin characters
and in Tifinagh by Mohend Saidi who also illustrated the cover.
