Ces dix contes réunis dans ce livre sont traduits du berbère. Ils ont été recueillis dans la région de N’tifa (Haut Atlas, Maroc) mais sont connus partout dans les montagnes environnantes. Ils ont été racontés ou plutôt psalmodiés par la mère de Abdellah Khallouk.

The ten stories grouped together in this book were translated from Berber. They were collected in the N'tifa region (High Atlas, Morocco) but are well-known in all the surrounding mountains. They were narrated, or rather chanted, by Abdellah Khallouk's mother.
