Ixfawen ... d isasan

Mohamed Oussous, Ixfawen ... d isasan. [...] Mohamed Oussous is one of the members of a generation of young writers writing in the Amazigh language. Amongst his strongest influences, he cites Azayku, which is not surprising, as the latter’s first collection of poems, Timitar (Signs), published in 1988, is an example to a whole generation. (...) >>>

  Taskiwin

Omar Derouich, Taskiwin. [...] >>>

  The Anefgu thirty-seven

The Anefgu thirty-seven. The winter of 2007 killed around one hundred people in the Atlas mountains of Morocco. The village of Anefgu alone, with no electricity, running water, doctor, ambulance or pharmacy, saw thirty-seven people, mostly babies, die due to a lack of medecine and its cemetery had to be made larger. This collection pays tribute to the Anefgu thirty-seven. >>>

  Les manuscrits berbères

Berber Manuscripts in the Maghreb and in European Collections. This collects together the various Acts of the Aix-en-Provence workshops, which were held on the 9th and 10th of August, 2002, on the initiative of the Book Conservation Centre, in the context of the MANUMED programme, and that of the Institute for Research and Study on the Arab and Muslim World (IREMAM).   Tifin

Tifin, Berber Literature Review.

It is a commonly shared conviction that to write in Berber is, for Berbers, an existential choice which places the author on the front line of demands for his or her identity.Berbers do not think of writing as a pointless exercise or a worldly pleasure. They think of it as a form of resistance. (...) >>>

Ijjigen n tidi
Mohammed Akunad. Ijjigen n tidi. The novelist Mohamed Akunad introduces us to a character who is typically Amazigh, who, although having immigrated to France during the seventies, has not forgotten his roots and remains greatly attached to his homeland. >>>

Berbères ou arabes ?
Berbères ou arabes ? le tango des spécialistes, Hèlene Claudot-Hawad (coord.). In the middle of the 19th century, the West became interested in a newcomer on the scientific scene – the Berber – a name which meant nothing to the people in question. In the evolutionist paradigm of the time, the “Berbers” were part of a triangular relation with “Arabs” and “Europeans” on the two other sides. >>>

Abdallah El Mountassir. Initiation au tachelhit. Tashelhit is one of the three dialects of the Moroccan Berber. Ra nsawal tachelhit "We will speak Tashelhit ". This subtitle indicates that priority is given to the oral aspect: thorough study of the pronunciation, dialogues extracted from the everyday life, many exercises. (...) >>>

Ahmed Haddachi, Memmis n ifesti d awal. Haddachi has published a singular tale entitled Memis ifesti d awal (Speech is the Child of Silence) that we will review in order to illustrate this emerging literature. (...) >>>

Omar Derouich, Anfara (Desglaç – Release). Anfara is the first collection of poems by the Amazigh poet, Omar Derouich, published in Catalonia. It contains nine amazigh poems preceded by their translation into Catalan. It is therefore a bilingual collection which has symbolic value given that it reunites two languages which are in a minority in their own countries... >>>
